Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Raven!
Raven is a lovable, 4-month-old retriever and pit mix with an energetic and outgoing personality. This sweet girl is affectionate, playful, and always happy to be around her people.
Raven thrives on attention and loves being the center of attraction. She’s great with small kids, especially during naptime, and bonds quickly with her humans. While she may be shy around other dogs and cats at first, she warms up with time and does well with proper introductions. Raven loves playing outside, especially with balls and squeaky toys, and when it’s time to rest, she enjoys cuddling with her favorite person.
She is crate trained, potty trained, and mostly leash trained (she pulls a little when excited). A fast learner, Raven already knows how to sit, especially when motivated by treats, and she even goes to her leash when she’s ready for outdoor adventures.
Raven has a unique triangular white spot on her lower back, making her easy to tell apart from her sister. She’s a big fan of being held and will happily snuggle with anyone warm and friendly. She eats three times a day and enjoys snacks in between.
Raven is a sweet and loving pup who would thrive in a home that appreciates her playful spirit and affectionate nature. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who loves to love, Raven might be the perfect addition to your family.

More about this rescue
We are a small 501 C3 nonprofit rescue located in Elburn, Illinois. In 2014, Safe Haven Dog Rescue became its own non-profit. We are licensed by the Illinois Agriculture Department.
The majority of our dogs and puppies are pulled from Kill Pounds and Shelters in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Illinois. We also accept local medical cases as often as our finances will allow.
Please take a few moments to read the stories about the dogs and puppies we have available for adoption. We disclose everything we know about the dogs, sometimes we know a lot often we know only that they were strays, thrown away on the side of the road, in the woods, or found in abandoned houses.
While we don’t always know their past we are certain that their future is much brighter.
We hope that you and your family are part of the future…..
