Meet SmolFry, a gentle and playful female puppy who has had a bit of a challenging start in life. Her mama was found stray on the streets of Texas. SmolFry and her siblings were born in rescue. She was born with swimmers legs, but her Texas fosters have worked with her so she can walk. Because she is a little delicate right now she is not a good fit for small children. She has been living with other dogs as well as cats in her foster home. She will definitely make an awesome addition to her new family. Might you be looking for a sweet little bundle for your Christmas?
Smolfry is a special puppy with an inspiring story. Born with swimmer’s syndrome , she’s been defying the odds and making incredible progress! Swimmer’s syndrome is a condition where a puppy’s legs splay out to the sides, making it difficult to stand or walk. With love and consistent at-home physical therapy, Smol is already walking on her own and showing just how determined she is.
Her current therapy includes short, five-minute sessions a few times a day. During these, she’s gently helped to stand, and her legs are repositioned if they slide outward. She also enjoys bicycle kick exercises on her back to strengthen her muscles and improve her coordination. She’s never needed taping of the legs, and only her back legs were affected.
What to expect moving forward? Smol has made fantastic progress and may not require prolonged treatment, but some continued at-home exercises could be helpful to support her development as she grows. Adopters should be prepared to monitor her progress and consult a veterinarian if any concerns arise in the future.
Smol is not defined by her condition – she’s a happy, loving, and playful puppy who’s ready to brighten her forever family’s life. If you’re looking for a pup with an inspiring spirit and the sweetest personality, She is ready to meet you!
