Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sophie, our 8 year old Shih Tzu is what we like to call a "17 pound dog in a 22 pound body". Found stray, her previous owners must have showed their affection with food; she is so friendly and sweet that we're shocked no one came for her at the shelter. Sophie is looking for a new home of her own; perhaps somewhere with fewer snacks.
We were asked to take Sophie in to help with her teeth and because she had a large mass in her armpit. Like a lot of middle aged dogs, Sophie has a few lipomas, which are benign fatty lumps. However, the one in her armpit was as big as an orange and was uncomfortable. Sophie has since recovered beautifully from her dental and surgery.
Friendly doesn't begin to describe how nice our Sophie is. She prances around like the most popular girl in the room (because, obviously, she is). Sophie is great on a leash, loves people, is crate and potty trained and quiet when left alone. Her hobbies include: tug, walks/struts, fetch and squeaking toys. Sophie is good with dog-savvy cats and would be fine with kids over 8. Sophie is good with dogs as long as they aren't too playful or rambunctious; since Sophie is so people focused, she'd like to stay on task and soak up as much lap time (uninterrupted) as possible.
Sophie is heartworm negative and current on her flea and heartworm preventatives.
