Meet Buddy, a 18-month-old Chihuahua/Beagle mix who is full size at around 15 pounds. Buddy has a lot of spunk for such a little guy. He has the energy of a Beagle but the attitude of a Chihuahua. He loves attention as long as it`s on his terms. He often will jump up on your lap and demand attention when he`s in a playful mood. Buddy loves other dogs too and does great with big and small dogs alike. He hasn`t been around cats much but could live with a dog friendly kitty. Buddy is more fond of women but he can warm up to men. He needs someone who can respect his boundaries and give him his space when he needs it, a home with younger kids would not be the best fit for him. Buddy is doing great with house training and he is very attached to his crate, using it as a safe space and preferring not to be disturbed when he is inside. He walks well on a leash but he isn`t fond of things going over his head, so a harness doesn`t work well for him. Buddy`s unique quirks and personality make him all the more endearing. He has come from a traumatic past and just needs a loving family to show him that not all humans are bad.
Buddy has been neutered, microchipped and kept current on vaccines and monthly preventatives. You can email julianshumate@gmail.com with any questions or fill out an application here: https://humanesocietyofwilkes.org/adopt/application/julians. To ensure your application was received please email the foster home. You can expect an email response within a week of applying.
