Zuma has spent a little too much of his life zooming around town and had come to Animal Friends multiple time as a stray before his owner surrendered him due to being unable to keep him safely contained. His previous owner shared that Zuma is housebroken and would go to the door to whine when he needed to go out. Zuma did not do well in crates when he was young and would break out so they started leaving him out in the home and he was not destructive. He has previously lived with cats and dogs and been around childen of all ages and done well, though we always recommend slow introductions when meeting pets and children in new homes. He is a high energy dog who will likely do best with someone committed to training him and getting his energy out. His previous owner shared that he knows the commands sit, heel on left hand side while on leash, climb, and free (release). Zuma has shown he is capable of getting out of even a 8 foot fence, so he should be constantly supervised in a yard and may need to be leashed walked or on a tether to stay contained in a yard. We are hoping to find this young, athletic dog a home where he can thrive and stay safely contained. If you think you may be a fit for him, come out and meet him today!
