Copper is a beautiful bicolor Beagle boy. He’s 9 months old and about 27lbs. He’s currently in a foster home (Tustin, CA) until he finds his forever home.
Copper came from a breeder in SoCal that has been struggling finding homes for their older Beagles. We’ve helped placing in adoption a few others of their Beagles and they reached back to send Copper with us, to find a good home for him as well.
Overall, Copper is not trained, socialized and has separation anxiety. He needs someone that will be available to continue working with him building his trust to new people and introduce him to new things, he was kept in a single property at his breeder’s since he was a puppy so everything is pretty much all new to him. His foster says that he’s been doing better everyday! She has worked with him and he’s more confident now.
Here’s an update provided by Copper’s foster mom:
“-He’s starting to go potty outside. He does great on the puppy pads, but we are working on going outside
-He does great at night, he loves to cuddle
-He’s starting to come when called and is learning his name
-He is letting me reach to pet him
-He likes to play with toys
-He’s not a fan of being left alone
-He follows me around the house
-He’s food motivated
-He does okay on the leash, he’s still scared of noises so we do short walks on the quiet streets and avoid people and dogs for now
-He’s scared of little kids, he’d do best in a home with older kids or adult only home
-He does well with other dogs, he loves to be around other dogs
-He’s a curious and overall happy puppy
Once this guy gains a little bit more confidence he’s going to be an amazing pup! He has a funny personality and such a unique, handsome face!”
This was the same case with the other Beagles that we took in from the same breeder, and they’re now doing great in their new homes. They just need training, a routine, lots of patience, time, treats and love!
Included with adoption:
- Wellness exam
- Vaccinations up to date (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies)
