What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
We are unfortunately looking to rehome our 2 year old mixed breed dog Barley who is approx 50lbs located in Virginia Beach, VA. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots.
Barley is a beautiful and sweet dog that we are extremely sad to have to rehome. He loves outdoors and is extremely smart and loyal.
The reason for rehome is we have found the breed temperament (see photos of sibling dog for DNA breed info) to not fit our household with young children and a smaller yard. Barley loves being outside and needs a large yard to be happy. He loves to bark at any movement and we live in a busy neighborhood which has caused issues with the neighbors. The other big reason for rehome is he has occasionally shown resource guarding issues which has reared its head around our younger children.
While he is NOT a good candidate for a family with small children or a small yard, if he’s given a larger space and no or older children he will be EXTREMELY successful integrating!
