My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!  My name is Krakos and I am looking for a forever home.  I was surrendered to a small rescue 'cause my owners were divorcing and neither one was able to keep me.  A volunteer with that rescue reached out to BCAA to see if they could help me out and they said yes ... yeah!  I am a dachshund mix, what with no one knows for sure, but I'm a happy boy with a perpetual smile on my face and just seem to take everything in stride.  Maybe it's 'cause of my youth (I'm a little less than a year old), but I just have a happy outlook on life.  I'm a little over 20lbs so I'm a perfect size in that I will fit just about anywhere.  I love people and getting attention as well as being up for whatever you want to do.  While I would like a fenced yard to run around and explore in, I am good on leash and love going for walks and adventures so could also do well in an apartment.  I have gotten along with all of the other dogs I have met and so far haven't bothered those things called cats.  I'm good in a crate without any accidents, barking or tearing up of any bedding although I would really prefer to be out with you.  I love my food and treats which will help with any future training you might want to do.  If you would like to mee me, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.

Submit Application

Submitting an application is always our first step - it's free to apply! bcaaofnj.org

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process starts with the applicant filling out an adoption application for the pet they are interested in. When they have completed and submitted the application, the screening process is started, which consists of a vet check, phone interview and home visit. Once all the steps are completed, we determine, by our findings, if they are approved, and if so, then they are allowed to adopt from our organization. The final step is they must complete the adoption contract, along with the donation for the animal, which goes into our medical fund to defray their medical costs. All of our animals are spayed and neutered, up to date on all their shots, including rabies, they are parasite free and on heartworm preventative.

More about this rescue

We are the Burlington County Animal Alliance (BCAA)located in Central New Jersey. We are a non-profit organization 501(3)(c), all volunteer rescue that saves animals from our local shelter and surrounding areas of New Jersey that are in danger of being euthanized. We take them into our program, get them the necessary medical care they need and adopt them back out to loving forever homes. We have 60 volunteers, many that open their homes to foster the homeless animals, we do fundraisers to raise money so we can continue to save the dogs and cats in need. We run strictly on donations from our adoptions and people who support our work.BCAA adopts to families in New Jersey, parts of Southeastern Pennsylvania and parts of New York.
