My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** Reese is at Petco Mira Mesa. ***

Grey & white bicolor, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 8/15/19, #19365

Cats: prefers to be only cat
Dogs: probably not
Children: great with cat-savvy kids

BACKGROUND: Reese and her three kittens were rescued from a rough area in Long Beach. When their story landed on social media, their amazing foster parents stepped up to look after them. Under their care, Reese was able to raise her candy kittens (Coco, Snickers and Peanut) in safety and comfort. Now, she can’t wait to step her paws into her forever home!

PERSONALITY: Sugar and spice and everything play- Reese is the sweetest in all the land! She’s also a tough cookie. During a routine visit to a vet, we were shocked to find out that someone had shot her with a BB gun, leaving two pellets in her chest. Thankfully, the pellets do not bother her and therefore, do not need to be removed per the vet’s advice. A testament to her resilience, Reese is a healthy and happy girl! She’s never let that horrible experience sour her love for people. Super affectionate, her greatest desire is to be near you! Not grasping the concept of personal space, she has a tendency to get close to your face. (What can she say? She really likes your face!) Rubbing against you is her way of giving you a hug. You can return the gesture by petting her soft coat. Being easy-peasy and docile, she’ll even let you pick her up. Just shower her with lots of attention and she is game! Speaking of games… Reese is the princess of recess! She goes crazy tossing around fluffy pom-poms or chasing after balls with strings and feathers. If you happen to be busy with silly things like work or school, that’s no problem. Reese seems to prefer playing on her own. Fully immersed in her imagination, don’t be startled if she makes loud, peculiar sounds. That’s just the noise she makes when she plays “pretend” with her toys. Perhaps in her game, she is a roaring lion or a T-Rex on the hunt in Jurassic Park.

COMPATIBILITY: Reese didn’t seem to like the other felines in foster care. While there is a chance that she could adjust to other cats after proper introductions, she’d probably be happiest being the only kitty in the household. According to Reese, she is everything you’d ever desire in a cat companion- no need for another! She’d most likely prefer a place without dogs. She did great with the cat-savvy kiddos she met in her foster home.
