BACKGROUND: From the day Callie was born, her elderly human mom showered her with love and care. When the woman’s eyesight began to fade, sweet Callie lifted her spirits with gentle leg rubs and soothing purrs. Despite the changes in her previous owner`s health, Callie remained her loyal and affectionate companion. Over time, the once vibrant and independent woman was now almost completely blind. While she would miss gliding her hands over her kitty’s silky coat, she knew the best thing for Callie was to find her a new forever family. With a heavy heart but a deep sense of peace, she called The Rescue House. Knowing she had made the right decision, Callie’s senior momma whispered a loving goodbye to Callie, knowing that her beloved cat would be in good hands.
PERSONALITY: Callie`s tender heart will fill your home with warmth and love. In foster care, Callie seamlessly settled in, greeting her new friends with delicate meows, soft purrs, and tail rubs to show her affectionate nature. If you absolutely must, she is content to let you pick her up. However, she is not a lap cat per se. She prefers to stay close by, giving you her tranquil, loving presence. A truly special kitty, she exudes a calm aura yet thrives on human attention. Callie is always seeking out scratches just above her tail, arching her back high in sheer delight. During her vet visit, she cheerfully rolled around and captivated everyone with her charm. The clinic staff were smitten by her! (Fun fact: While she is typically the quiet type, we’ve learned that Callie is very talkative during car rides.) Though not particularly playful, she rewards your efforts with encouraging headbutts as she watches your wand toy antics with curiosity. Callie is more of a dreamer than an athlete. You can find her gazing out the window with eyes full of wonder as she ponders the possibilities of this vast world. It’s astounding how much love can come from a petite, 6-pound kitty!
COMPATIBILITY: Callie was fostered in a house with six other felines. She was friendly towards the kittens and female cats. Even though she was weary of the male cats, she did not swat or attack them. She’d merely give a warning hiss to tell them she needed space. We believe
