My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rocky is an 8-month-old Husky/Shepherd mix with a big heart and an adventurous spirit. This sweet boy hasn’t had the easiest start in life—he spent weeks roaming the neighborhood, looking for love and a place to belong. His previous home couldn’t meet his needs, so we stepped in to keep him safe. Now, Rocky is ready to find the forever family who will give him the love and care he deserves.

Despite his rough beginning, Rocky is one of the most affectionate dogs you’ll ever meet. He absolutely loves being around people, leaning in for cuddles, and wagging his tail with joy just because you’re there. He’s also incredibly smart and eager to please, making steady progress with house training, crate training, and puppy manners.

Rocky loves playing with other dogs and cats, though he’s still learning boundaries and how to be the best playmate. He hasn’t had the chance to be around young kids yet, but his gentle, people-loving nature shines through in every interaction.

He’s looking for a home that understands Huskies—someone who appreciates his energy and intelligence and has a secure yard to keep him safe during his playful adventures. An active family who enjoys outdoor activities and has the time to continue his training would be a perfect match.

Rocky has his first vet visit scheduled for December 12 for vaccines, neutering, and a full check-up. He’s healthy, happy, and ready for a fresh start with a family who will give him the love he’s been searching for.

If you’re ready to welcome a loyal, loving, and intelligent companion into your life, Rocky is waiting for you!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................
