My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Lexi! She is a 1-year-old, 26lb Shepherd mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA.

Lexi is a petite girl and should not be growing any bigger than where she is at now, so she will remain a very manageable size! She is incredibly loving, sweet, and bonds deeply with her people. She is a silly girl, who loves belly rubs. She is very smart and learns quickly, which will make training a breeze! She is housetrained and does well walking on a leash. She checks in with her person for approval when walking. She can be vocal when encountering other vocal dogs behind a fence or window. She is very energetic and enjoys going on walks or adventures, but she also loves to be with her people and she will settle down and relax if she is near them at home.

Lexi plays well with other dogs in our care and does fine with other dogs but she will resource guard her person when other dogs come to them for attention so for that reason she would do best to be the only dog in the home. She is looking for a person and family to call her own, as she will be a very loyal and loving companion to any lucky adopter that brings her home! We are looking for a standalone home with a fenced yard outside of the busy city.

Lexi is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

More about this rescue

Forever Home Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We receive dogs from owner surrenders and overcrowded shelters. All of the dogs are housed in private, loving foster homes or a kennel in the greater Seattle area. We assess their behaviors and health and help them relax during their transition to a forever home. The dogs remain in foster care or in our kenneling facility until they are adopted. All of the dogs are/or will be spayed or neutered, microchipped and are current on routine vaccinations.

Forever home dog rescue is not a shelter and thus you cannot see the dogs without an appointment.

We need foster homes! Thinking about adopting a dog, but not sure yet about which breed or if you're ready for the long-term commitment? Consider becoming a foster parent. A foster dog placement can be anywhere from two weeks to several months. We provide any dog supplies you may need and cover all necessary medical costs for your foster dog. You provide the love and attention and bring the dogs to adoption events at least twice per month.

Interested? Send us an email at fhdrwa@gmail.com and we'll send you a foster application. It's lots of fun and you will meet lots of dogs and other people who love dogs.
