My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**I am part of the Home for the Holidays adoption promotion so if I am adopted by December 31, my new family will get to pick a festive gift to help me ring in the New Year with them!**

Hi, my name is Anemone! I’m available for adoption! You can read about my condition and needs below. If I sound like a good fit, come out to Greenhill Humane Society to meet me or give us a call if you`d like to talk with a staff member more about adopting a cat with ringworm!!

Do you like other cats? I previously lived with many other cats so it is likely that I would do well with another cat after a slow introduction period.

What do you think about living with a dog? My history with dogs is not known. I might do well with a dog after a slow introduction period.

How do you feel about kids? My history with kids is not known. I am very friendly so I might do well with kids.

What was your previous home like? I lived indoors with several other cats.

What’s your ideal home like? I am a sweet girl, I need a home where I can get lots of love and attention and have somewhere I can be isolated during my treatment

Is there anything else we should know about you? I have ringworm (feline dermatophytosis), a very common, treatable skin infection. Despite the name, it is a fungal infection having nothing to do with worms. I might have an itchy rash on my skin that will look like a circle on the infected area. I am undergoing treatment at the shelter but hoping to find my forever family now to continue healing in my new home! I think my recovery would be a lot quicker and more comfortable in a home. My adoption price is discounted and you will receive supplies and resources needed to get started. Learn more about ringworm and treatment at https://www.green-hill.org/ringworm-in-cats-treatment/

My adoption fee includes being spayed/neutered, current vaccinations, permanent microchip identification, certificate for a free veterinary exam, post-adoption support and more!

Give us a call if you`d like to talk with a staff member more about adopting a cat with ringworm!

More about this shelter

Greenhill Humane Society has been caring for animals in Lane County since 1944. We operate the only animal shelter within the Eugene/Springfield area. Our programs include animal adoptions; reuniting lost animals with their families; disaster response; crisis care boarding in situations of domestic violence, medical emergencies, and other crisis situations; spay/neuter for free roaming, un-owned community cats; a pet pantry; on-site volunteer opportunities; foster care and humane education.

Last year, we helped reunite or find new loving homes for 2,826 animals. In addition, we provided 469 cat spay/neuter surgeries to assist cat caregivers in reducing feral cat over-population.

Greenhill is a private non-profit and relies on donations for a majority of its budget. The generosity of our local community enables us to provide a high level of care to lost, abandoned, and neglected animals while at the same time helping pet owners in need.
