Meet Precious! This sweet 1-year-old German Shepherd girl is as precious as her name implies! She has a unique gait due to a medical condition that causes some muscle atrophy in her hind end, but don't let that fool you - she has a whole lot of love and puppy energy to share! Our adoption counselors and medical team can provide you with more information about her condition and care.

Despite her challenges, Precious is just like any other German Shepherd puppy. She's playful, intelligent, and eager to please. She'll need a loving family who can provide her with basic puppy training and socialization to help her blossom into a well-mannered adult dog.

Precious loves to go for short walks, play fetch, and cuddle up with her favorite people. She's looking for a home with a family who will embrace her unique spirit and give her the love and attention she deserves.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

For In-Person Adoptions at the Shelter, visit during open hours. For pets in foster care, apply on that pet at www.multcopets.org

Meet the Pet

At the shelter, adopters will be able to meet a maximum of three (3) pets per visit, with ten (10) minutes per pet.

Take the Pet Home

Adoptions are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Adoptions will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Adopters will not be able to submit applications to adopt animals in advance, or place adoption holds on animals.
For In-Person Adoptions at the Shelter, visit during open hours.

Adopters will be able to meet a maximum of three (3) pets per visit, with ten (10) minutes per pet.
We will be unable to assist with pet-to-pet meets. Please keep your furry friends at home, adoptable pets will not be able to meet resident pets at the shelter.
Prepare enough time for your visit. Adopters should expect that it may be up to two (2) hours at the shelter to process an adoption, including meeting pets, an adoption consultation, and waiting periods. Wait times may be significantly longer on weekends.

Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) is the only open door shelter in Portland. We are the primary agency responsible for lost pet care, animal abuse investigations and animal rescue in Multnomah County. We also offer dog and cat licensing, lost and found pet services, and animal adoptions through our shelter in Troutdale. MCAS is a division of the Multnomah County Department of Community Services (DCS).
