Edgar is a social, outgoing, and affectionate cat who thrives on attention and fun. He loves to be petted, picked up, and to sit in laps, making him a perfect companion for anyone seeking a loving and energetic friend. Edgar is a whirlwind of energy, delighting in chasing other cats around and entertaining himself for hours with a wand toy, often marching through the house like the goofball he is.
He loves engaging with other cats and, when he's ready to snuggle, expects you to be ready too! Edgar will follow you from room to room until you sit down, then curl up around your neck, pressing his face into yours with the loudest, most content purrs.
Edgar also loves to be part of everything happening around the house, whether it's "helping with cooking, making the bed, or folding laundry-he's always eager to contribute. Playful, affectionate, and hilariously entertaining, Edgar is a one-of-a-kind kitty who will fill your home with laughter and love.

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

More about this rescue

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.

Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
