My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Otis could be the definition of “Extrovert” in the dictionary! A fan favorite of volunteers and visitors to our home base, our founder’s home, Otis loves to greet guests and be lavished in attention by all! He is very playful and loves wand toys and to bat about toy mice and balls. He loves to snuggle and is also found of stretching out to his full length and lounging any place near his people are. He gets along with other cats and dogs (there was a bit of an adjustment period). Otis is a bit of a foodie as well, he cannot believe how great life is off the streets and highly appreciates every meal! He is a very smart cat who would love to be a part of his very own family!

We are a 100% foster-based organization so a day/time is coordinated with our amazing foster to meet the animal that caught your eye.

Our contracts are digital + sent from our software database.

We have several options for you to help us continue our work in matching animals with their forever family units.

At this time, Familiar Hearts Animal Society meetings are by appointment only.

We currently rely on our amazing web of generous fosters throughout the Philadelphia area and will do our best to make a meeting as convenient as possible for both human + animal.

Meetings will need to be coordinated through the foster of the animal you are interested in meeting.

Mission Statement: To end the unnecessary suffering of homeless companion animals by serving as a refuge and enabling humans to provide them quality and compassionate homes.

Our Vision: Our mission is two-fold; we want to help abandoned pets and we want to help stop pet abandonment.

We operate using a network of kind hearted hands to help find homeless animals veterinary and behavior care and then match them with appropriate forever homes. We also strive to educate pet owners about resources they might utilize in order to best understand how to provide for their friends with furry paws, feathers or claws. We always do our best to help.
