My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I am a sweet, social, older gentleman, looking for the perfect forever home!

I am playful and cute!

I will need daily physical activity to keep me healthy and happy!

My purr motor is always running!

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

I have been known to shower my favorite people in love!

Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!

Marten interacts with the assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is suitable for any level of adopter experience.

My Foster wrote: If you're looking for the most affectionate, loving, sweet, and well
behaved companion - look no further! Marten is by far the
friendliest and most easygoing cat one would ever come across.
He loves all people - and opens up to his favourite humans very
quickly. He loves getting pets and gives out head butts very
generously. He loves being close to his humans - his favorite
thing to do is to sit on his human's lap and cuddle up close while
sleeping. Don't let his age fool you - he is playful and loves
attention, and would do best in a home where he can get lots of
pets, kisses and constant love.

A Volunteer writes: And the winner is . . . Marten! To say he enjoys petting is an understatement. When you pet him from head to tail and pick up your hand to do it again, he pops his head up to meet your hand as if he can't wait another millisecond. All the while he provides a running commentary of meows. He came into the shelter with his brothers Belgian and Flemish, who are more understated but every bit as affectionate. Marten and Belgian are both Tuxedos; one is black with swaths of white, the other is more white with black markings. Marten wears a batman mask and Belgian sports a Sigmund Freud mustache. They are quite the dynamic duo.
