Oh Ricky, you're so fine, you're so fine you blow my mind, Hey Ricky!! Once you meet this guy, you're mind will be blown for sure! This retriever perhaps Boxer mix weighs about 48 lbs full grown.
Ricky is a wiggly, happy young adult retriever mix ready to find his forever. He does
great on a leash and makes friends quickly in his play groups. He is a confident boy that likes learning new
things and LOVES people! Ricky
would likely do best in a home with another dog as he experiences some worries about where his people are going when they leave and would prefer a buddy keep him company no matter what. Ricky is eager to please and is winning the hearts of everyone he meets. Get your adoption request in right away and let him wiggle his way into yours.
**Volunteer Dog Walker feedback: "I had the pleasure of hiking with handsome Ricky! He was fantastic. Got a long with all the other dogs, loved getting treats and walked well on the leash". " When he was at the front of the pack he did not pull at all and there was plenty of slack in the leash. Ricky did not mind any passing cars and was comfortable walking past them. Ricky also loves to give hugs and to get all of the pets. He leans up against your legs as much has he can to take in all of the love! Ricky also loves to give kisses!
*Weekend Host Feedback: "Ricky is a big lovebug that wants to be with his family as much as possible. He loves snuggling and playing. He makes a great reading companion and adores sitting next to you on the couch. He loves to play and walk, though his leash manners could use a brushing up. He's potty trained for the most part and got along well with our two other dogs. He was great with our older kids and is a people dog. Ricky is adjusting to the crate, though he wouldn't say no to snuggling in bed with you. If you are looking a loveable yet high energy cuddle bug, you've found
him!"
*Recent Host Feedback: "Ricky is a super sweet boy who loves attention. He has progressed quite favorably on the leash. Ricky pull a little bit but getting better with each walk. In addition, he is respectful of other dogs and people who he encounters on the walks. He is potty trained as he had had zero accidents during his stay! While not a huge fan of the crate during the day, he sleeps very well in his crate at night. He is quite the lover and wants to cuddle. He tends to be better with teenage kids and adults vs younger kids. He also played well with our other dog who is equal in size."

** Volunteer Dog Walker feedback: "Ricky was very sweet with everyone around. Not that interested in the other dogs, but loved a good treat and pet from anyone who would offer".

More about this rescue
Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.
We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
