** If you are interested in adopting Arthur, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ **
Arthur is an adorable, sweet little guy. He is just 1 year old and a whopping 7 lbs!
Arthur was rescued from a high kill shelter in Houston, TX in early October. He was almost fully bald when he was rescued, and lost all his hair on the harsh Texas streets. Well now Arthur is healthy, happy, hairy, ready to hit the road and head to Colorado to start fresh.

"This little dude is so fun! He is so sweet and even though he is so tiny, he is great with all sizes of dogs. Arthur is a friend to all!
He gets so excited to see people and immediately wants to snuggle and play.
He loves to play with his toys and zoom around but he also enjoys burrowing in a blanket and snoozing once he’s had his fun.
He’s the best work from home buddy. He enjoys exploring on walks and walks well on leash. He doesn’t mind wearing stylish clothes either!
He’s also very smart and picks up on tricks quickly - he’s quite agile for a tiny guy! He now knows "sit", "circle", "up" (onto his box), "down", and "roll over"!!!!
He hasn't had any accidents since day 1 or 2 so I would say he is potty trained and learned that really fast too.
We crate him when we leave the house and he whines for about 5 minutes then settles.
Food is his absolute favorite and anyone with a treat will have his most focused attention! "

Farfel's Rescue and our Texas rescue partners would love to see Arthur in a home with an individual, family (older kids are preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet dog. We'd hate to see him left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home, as he is much too social for that type of arrangement.
We'd like to place Arthur in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area.
Arthur has been fully vetted, is up to date on his shots, and neutered.
Arthur is ready to find a loving home where he can recover and thrive. With his gentle spirit and determination, he’s sure to bring joy to the right family.
Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.
Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ .
**PLEASE NOTE** Farfel's Rescue makes huge efforts to place our dogs with families that are excellent matches. We do this through our application found on farfels.com or at the link provided above (never through rescue site apps such as RescueMe, Petfinder or Adoptapet as they don't provide enough information) If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out the Farfel's Rescue adoption application.. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving puppy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit a Farfel's adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

An Adoption Application and an Adoption Contract must be completed before any dog can begin their one week foster. Our average adoption fee is $695. This amount serves to cover vetting, spay/neuter, all vaccinations, temperament testing, transport, a microchip, harness, food, and treats.
Our dogs come from Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and rural Colorado.

Pets are transported from the southern states every week. Almost 100% of the time, the dogs are spoken for as a result of adoption applications that can be referenced under Adoption at farfelsrescue.com. We study the applications. If the app indicates there is a match, followed up by a home visit and reference checks, the process moves to the next step. The adopter is committing to a one week foster (of course the dog can be returned at any time prior), and can then choose to finalize the adoption.

More about this rescue
We own a pet boutique named Farfel's Farm & Rescue on Pearl Street in Boulder, Colorado. We have had the good fortune to find our niche in the Boulder community and experience success. We felt it very important to "pay it forward" in gratitude. We couldn't think of a better endeavor than to save dogs who were out of time in the southern states, yet had been identified with great temperaments. We dedicate our efforts to their good health and ultimate wonderful, permanent homes.
