My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Rain, since I have a way of showering my people with love and affection. The sweetest companion, I am a pretty, 36-pound supermutt, probably with a sprinkling of athletic hound and devoted pittie. My favorite thing is being with my people, just hanging out or napping together on the couch. I am comfortable in my kennel, calm and quiet, but I have an adorably playful side too. I love to toss around my toys and tear them apart with glee. I am good on a leash, ready to walk or run with you. Romping in the backyard is a blast, but I will also hop into the car for adventures at the park. I get along famously with other dogs. I probably would not be ideal now in a home with young children, because, being a younger pup myself, I often jump up when I want attention. But, I am eager to please and learning fast how to sit politely for pets.

If you are looking for a loving, playful and sweet companion, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. CAWS strives to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take a couple of days to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. My adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationDecember 3, 2024, 5:40 am

Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
