My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cocoa Beans was discovered by a concerned neighbor as she started to come around for food... little did the woman know, but she was eating for three! Eventually, as she began to trust a little more, and eat a little more, she then brought her babies around for her person to admire.

We all knew she needed help so she didn't have to endure another litter of kittens to take care of. We couldn't have hoped for a sweeter, more friendly girl! When she was caught and spayed her lovely personality really shine through.

We estimate her birthday to be October 8, 2023. Cocoa Beans and her babies were rescued from Marlboro, NY.

Our required adoption donation is $150 per kitten or $125 per cat (older than 9 months). All our rescues are up to date on shots, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLV/Heartworm. They are dewormed, treated for parasites and free of fleas. Each is spayed or neutered and given a rabies vaccination.

We require a completed application, and make all calls to references.
If potential adopter has other pets they must be up to date on vaccines (unless otherwise recommended by a licensed vet) and that all cats must be tested for FIV/FeLV.
We have an adoption donation of $150 per kitten and $125 per adult cat.
We require a signed contract upon adoption.

We are the Adoption Partner with Poughkeepsie Petsmart, where cats and kittens are cared for in the store. We also have cats and kittens in private foster.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to rescue and care for stray and homeless animals while providing humane education to the community.
We work with members of the community to help cats in need. We conduct trap/neuter/return and place projects and train home and business owners on how to properly care for free roaming cats on their property and in their neighborhoods.
We focus in southern Dutchess County, but help people throughout Dutchess, Putnam and Orange counties by connecting them with local rescues that can work with them, loaning equipment, coordinating spay/neuter clinics and offering guidance.
