Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Lovable Benji is one of our favorite foster dogs. He is an energetic, leggy Lab/Coonhound mix whose play vibe has charmed us silly.
Six years old, Benji still has a lot of puppy mojo, and needs a good amount of exercise. He loves the outdoors and would make an ideal running or hiking buddy. He needs two to three brisk leash walks a day to engage his mind and meet his energy needs.
Benji is a two time resident of our rescue He joined us originally from NYCACC, after his owner surrendered him to an uncertain fate. Owner surrendered dogs often have a tough time losing their cushy homes and adapting to a harsh shelter environment that breeds stress and fear.
Benji did not fare well in the shelter. He became unglued and extremely fearful. His behavior deteriorated quickly, and we were asked to step in before he hit the euthanasia list.
After he arrived at our rescue, Benji made quick progress and was adopted quickly, but then returned to us amidst a messy divorce. Benji now needs a second chance at “forever.”
Benji is a natural athlete, and has a sinewy, sleek physique, with adorable floppy ear tips! He has a low maintenance tan coat with black markings. He is at an ideal lean body weight of 51 pounds.
Benji is an extremely lovable guy, and generally good-natured and is generally friendly, but can be suspicious of some strangers at first. He quickly warms to gentle human touch. He likes to engage with his people on his own terms, but is more than willing to follow pack rules when it comes to house manners and obedience training.
Benji would be the ideal companion for an active single or couple, who enjoy outdoor activities. We'd like to steer clear of children in Benji’s home since they may not respect his boundaries, when it comes to his food and toys.
Benji is in excellent health and has been neutered. He has received routine vaccinations and health screenings. He has been microchipped and dewormed. If you are interested in Lucas, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info.

When we receive your completed application we will check your references, including your veterinarian, and then call you to discuss your situation and requirements.. If you are approved for adoption, we can then discuss with you which of the dogs might fit best into your life. We will either arrange for you to visit the dog in its foster home, by appointment, or transport the dog to your home.
To help cover the veterinary expenses of our foster Eskies and to support our rescue effort, Eskies Online will charge you an adoption fee of $350.00. We do not sell dogs. We charge a flat fee--whether the Eskie is a puppy or an older dog; whether it came to us with minimal veterinary needs or requiring major medical care; whether the Eskie makes a short or a long stay in our foster system.
