My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oh, hey there!

Smudge here, your soon-to-be best friend and personal happiness consultant. I’m a 4-5-month-old Great Pyrenees/Labrador Retriever mix with a coat as soft as a cloud and a personality brighter than a midday sunbeam. Now, let me tell you how I earned my oh-so-dashing name. You see, I was born with a perfect coat of soft, snowy white fur—almost perfect, that is. I’ve got a little "smudge" on my back—just a single black spot that’s as mysterious as it is adorable. Some say it’s a birthmark. Others claim it’s a signature from the universe. Personally, I think it’s the perfect way to show off my one-of-a-kind charm. It’s like the universe was painting a masterpiece and accidentally dropped the brush on me—instant pyrfection!

Let me paint you a picture: you’re walking through the house, probably minding your own business and BOOM—I’m on my back, belly up, ready for some grade-A belly rubs. Don’t worry, I’ll keep rolling over until you get the memo. A guy like me knows what he wants, and what I want is all the love and attention you can spare.
When I’m not staging dramatic belly rub ambushes, you’ll find me perfecting the art of napping. My favorite spots? The back porch or a sunny patch of grass where I can soak up those golden rays. I’m basically a solar-powered nap machine.

So, here's the scoop: I wasn’t always living the high life of belly rubs and porch naps. Nope, I found myself at a shelter for a little while. But then, BAM! PPFT swooped in like the superheroes they are, and suddenly, I was whisked away to my new foster home. No more cold kennels or lonely nights. I got cozy blankets, a warm bed, and—best of all—people who adore me. Now, I am on the search for my happily ever after!

I’ve got a perfect balance between playful energy and chill vibes. Sure, I’m a puppy, so I’ve got my zoomie moments—especially when I’m racing around with Kalyn like a two-man wolf pack. Toys? Oh, don’t even get me started. I love them all—squeaky ones, chewy ones, fluffy ones, you name it. I’m like a toy connoisseur, testing each one to see how squeaky I can make it. But once the zoomies are over (don’t worry, it doesn’t take long), I’m back to my calm side, ready for a good snuggle or sun nap. My foster says I’m the perfect blend of energy and relaxation. It’s like I know when to be the life of the party and when to kick back and just enjoy the good life. So, if you're looking for a dog who can be both your adventure buddy and your couch potato partner, I’m your guy. You’ll never be bored with me around, but you’ll also have plenty of time for those cozy, quiet moments.

Let’s talk about the road trip situation first. I’m gonna be real with you—car rides? They’re not my favorite. I tend to get a little drooly and, well, let’s just say my stomach and the car aren’t exactly best friends. But hey, I’m working on it, and with a little patience, I’m sure I’ll get my sea legs (or car legs?) in time. Now, when it comes to going out and about—count me in! Whether it’s a trip to the pet store, a stroll through the park, or just hanging out at a cafe, I’m all about it. When I meet new people, get ready for a greeting that’s as warm as my fluffy belly! I’m all excited, rolling around on my back like I’m in the middle of a belly rub contest. I’m here for the hugs and kisses, and I’ll do whatever it takes to win your heart. As for being a homebody? Oh yeah, I’m totally cool with that too. After all, I do love a good nap. Whether we’re out and about or cozying up at home, I’m happy either way as long as I’m with my people.

So, here’s the lowdown on my social life: I’m a friendly guy, and I get along great with other dogs. I love having a canine buddy like Kalyn to zoom around with—so I’d do just fine in a home with other dogs who are ready to play and cuddle. But here’s the thing—I really love attention. If I’m the only dog, I’ll be soaking up all the love and belly rubs, and I won’t complain. Cats? No problem. I’m totally cool with them—maybe we’ll even become best pals. I’ll leave them to their business, and they can leave me to my belly rubs. Everybody’s happy! As for kids? Oh, I’m a fan! I love people of all sizes, and I’ll be extra gentle and affectionate with little ones. I’ve got plenty of love to share, so no worries there.

Okay, let’s talk about the nitty-gritty. First off, I might be small now (I mean, look at me—how could I not be?), but I’m gonna grow! I’m gonna be a big boy, and that means you should probably think twice if you’re in an apartment. I mean, I could make it work with the right setup, but just be prepared for my future stature. You might need to start saving up for a really comfy bed and maybe some extra belly rubs. Now, onto the potty situation—yep, I’m still learning the ropes here. I love the doggie door, but when I can’t get outside, I might need a little extra help. That’s just part of being a puppy, right? But don’t worry, I’ll get there—slow and steady, like the pro I’m destined to be. As for my kennel, I’m kinda getting the hang of it. I like to nap in there sometimes (I’m a fan of a good, cozy spot), but I’m not exactly a “kennel trained expert” yet. Now, I can’t lie—I’ve got a bit of a thing for sticks and vines. If I see one, it’s game on. And, okay, maybe I’ve nibbled on the puppy chair a little, but that’s just because I'm still figuring out what’s chewable and what’s not. And when it comes to barking... well, I’m more of a whiner and crier. Not a big fan of making noise unless I’m trying to tell you something important (like, "Hey, belly rubs, please!"). I’ll let you know when I need something, and I promise it’s all with good intentions.

Listen, I’ve got a lot of love to give, and when I say I want to be your dog, I mean it. Not just for now, not just for a while, but for forever. I don’t want to just be the puppy that you “try out” and then send on my way when I’m not as cute anymore or enter my teenage stage. So, if you're looking for a forever friend to fill your heart and your home with love, laughter, and a little bit of puppy chaos (the good kind!), then look no further!

So what happens next? Well, I would hope that you would submit an adoption app for me. You can find the app on the rescue's website, message them for it, or find it in the comments below.

I am being fostered in ✨Sand Springs, OK✨ so if you live outside the area..no worries. Just be prepared to pack for a road trip because this rescue doesn't send us on transports. So, both they and I will be expecting you to come pick me up. And what better way to start the bonding process than with a road trip?!

Alright, enough about me for now—I’ve got some belly rubs to catch up on and a sunbeam to nap in.

With tail wags and smudgy kisses,
Smudge 🖤
