My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Contact SaveMeAdoptMe@gmail.com or text or leave a message at 573-512-2102 for an application. The adoption donation of $175.00 covers spay / neuter, vaccinations, microchip, deworming, and current monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention. Cream and her sisters came from a situation where the dogs multiply and eventually disappear. This lucky girl is estimated to have been born July 2024 and is about 20 lb. Her mom is a Red Heeler and herbal dad supposedly a Bluetick Coonhound. Which is very probable since the pups were all bluetick color. They were so happy to be able to get to a pen with a dog house, some nice warm straw, and a wind break. They were even more happy when they started getting to come inside. Cream is doing well going potty on-leash or using the doggie door when she has to go potty. She sleeps in a crate at night. She is a bit timid of new prople but comes around quickly with gentle and treats. She will do well in a home with another well-adjusted dog to help build her confidence. She was unsure of a couple of cats that hang around by the fence, but is fine with them when on-leash though she would like to get them to play. She will need gentle reassurance as she continues to learn about how wonderful it is to have her own loving family.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

You may be surprised to find that adopting a pet is a more involved process than you'd imagined. Our intent is not to frustrate you. Rather, everything we do is in the best interest of the pets in our care. Our goal is to help you find your perfect match, and to give them the best possible chance of finding a permanent, safe and loving home that meets their individual needs.

Before meeting our pets you will need to fill out an adoption application and submit it. The questions on the application help us match your needs with the needs of our available pet. Our application includes questions about your living situation, pet history, current pets, the type of pet you are looking for and the way in which it will be cared for. We're not just being nosy! Some of our dogs and cats would be good with kids, or get along with other pets or are appropriate for first time pet owners. We also have pets with special needs, or behavioral issues, or who would be more appropriate for an experienced pet owner.

We do reserve the right to refuse adoption. If your application for the adoption of a pet is not approved, we will do our best to explain the reason(s). A denial is not a rejection of you as a person; it is a refusal to place a pet in a situation that we do not feel is a good match or does not meet our policies.
Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

A member of our adoption's team will contact you and can answer questions and set up an appointment if we think the pet is a good match for you. At our facility, we have an outside fenced area where you can visit and play with the dogs you are interested in. Most of our cats roam free in our cat room, which is a great environment for you to get to know them and their personalities.
We generally do not do same day adoptions. We want to give you some time to think about it - it's a big commitment. This also gives us time to do any vet checks, home checks, background checks and complete the adoption paperwork. You can generally pick up your pet the following day or arrange for another day that would be convenient for you and gives us enough time to complete any requirements.

We offer a 7 day trial with your new pet, You will be required to put the adoption fee down, take your new pet home. Around day 3 we will call to see how things are going. if there are issues, a member of our team (usually our dog trainer) can come and work with you. On day 7, or before, if your new pet is a perfect fit, we will finalize your adoption. if not you can bring the pet back , try another pet or get your money back.

Once you adopt a pet from us, we encourage you to keep in touch! Please call us for advice if you are having any problems or have questions. Many times a small problem can be fixed before it becomes a bigger problem. And we love to get emails, letters and photos from people who have adopted a pet from us.
