Meet Dixie Belle!
This sweet little hound mix is around 5-6 months old and sadly has not had the best journey so far in life. Despite that, she is as sweet as can be and loves everyone she has met so far. She is in a foster home with 6 other dogs and has done great with all of them. She is playful, but respects boundaries when corrected by the other dogs. She also loves snuggling with other dogs and can often be found crammed into a single dog bed with 3 or more of her doggie siblings.
Miss Dixie sadly experienced some neglect before coming into rescue and did not learn a lot as a little pup. She is now working hard to learn house manners and potty trianing. While she is doing a great job, she will need continued trianing to reinforce the new things she is learning. While she does sleep in a crate at night, she doesn't love her crate and would prefer being allowed to sleep in bed with her favorite humans.
Dixie is also finally gaining some much needed weight! She is serious about her meals, but not food protective at all. When she seems someone coming with her food bowl she gets so excited that her entire body wiggles in the sweetest little hound dog dance. Her foster family tried buying her a puzzle bowl to slow her down when she eats, but Dixie is so smart that she learned how to flip the bowl over within minutes. The only thing Dixie loves more than eating is cuddling. She get an A+++ in snuggling and will climb up on her foster families lap and press her whole body in for snuggles. She is more than happy to share her cuddle space with other dogs.
Dixie will be an incredible doggie for a family willing to put more time into helping her learn her manners.
