Sweet, gentle and friendly male shepherd mix.

Cookie is a very friendly young male shepherd mix about 1.5 years old and a nice medium size, around 18kg/40 lbs. Cookie was rescued from the streets of La Paz, BCS, Mexico, where he was found hanging around a construction site with a pack of other dogs. Unfortuunately one of the other male dogs didn't like him and kept attacking him, but Cookie is a peaceful guy and doesn't want to fight. Luckily, a wonderful foster took him in and he immediately blossomed into a wonderful companion. In spite of his experience on the street, Cookie is very sweet, gentle and friendly. He loves being with his humans and will make someone a very loyal friend. He's very friendly, affectionate, and loves to cuddle. He's quick to learn and smart, and has learned "sit", and walks well on a leash. He's young and athletic, ready to accompany you on walks, hikes or any other adventure, but calm at home. He's cautious about meeting new people and a bit shy, but curious and doesn't bark much. He rides well in the car and has even taken trips in a side by side UTV! He's a happy dog who loves trips to the beach, gets along well with other dogs, and brings joy to his humans. To meet Cookie in person, visit this link to submit an application:

Additional adoption info

We ask the potential adopter to fill out an application. We set up a meet and greet with the foster parent. If all goes well and they would like to adopt we have them sign an adoption contract.

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, have current vaccines and are microchipped prior to adoption.

Fees range between $150 - $300

Woofs and Wags Dog Rescue is a 501(c)3 Non-profit dog rescue in San Diego, CA

Woofs and Wags Dog Rescue was founded by volunteers in San Diego. Our goal is to "Rescue, Rehabilitate, Rehome" rescued dogs from San Diego and Baja California.

We love Baja and understand that it is a struggle for some of the people to provide a proper home and care for their dogs. We rescue dogs that are running through traffic, starving on the streets and have no one to care for them. Sadly, many are in poor condition and need medical care. We provide that care with the help of volunteers and veterinarians on both sides of the border. Our adoption fees are used to pay for the care of these pups.

Our dogs and puppies are kept in loving foster homes until they find their forever homes. If you see a dog/puppy you would like to meet, we will put you in touch with the foster family. We also do adoption events around San Diego, please check our website for upcoming events.

Our "Baja Blends" as we like to call them make wonderful pets and will shower you with love to show you how grateful they are to be in a loving home.
