My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Canem is looking for a loving home!

The adoption fee for this shelter guest is 20% off through January 7th as part of our Home for the Holidays promotion!

All puppies need extra help learning about the world around them, and to be comfortable with new people and new dog friends. We encourage all puppy adopters to enroll their puppies in puppy socials starting at 8 weeks, and puppy training classes by 10 weeks. Participating in these activities will help your puppy grow up to be a happy, confident, and a well-rounded adult dog. It is also essential to help them build positive association with the world, by pairing new experiences with delicious treats.

Adopters must be at least 18 years old with valid state-issued identification. Joybound encourages family members to participate in the adoption process, especially children (and family dogs for dog adoptions). Please visit Joybound's website for information on adoption and to view more cute cats and dogs.

More about this rescue

We’re on a mission to unleash happiness. Dogs and cats aren’t just animals we take care of. They take care of us too. When you bond with a pet, it is scientifically proven to make you healthier and happier. But you don’t need a bunch of research to tell you that. You can feel it with every belly rub or every time they rush to greet you at the door. Creating that feeling has been our driving purpose for more than 30 years.

We are Joybound People & Pets, formerly the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF). Joybound is committed to forming, supporting, elevating, and celebrating the human-animal bond through cat and dog rescue and adoption and services such as training and veterinary care, food and supply assistance, therapy and service-animal programs, and rich learning resources for all pet families. Our goal is for every adoption story to become a lasting tale of friendship, love, and mutual happiness.
