My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Named after the Greek God of north wind, winter, and ice, Boreas is a stunning Shepherd/Husky mix who is anything but cold!

This gorgeous guy arrived at FVHA as an owner surrender after some unfortunate circumstances befell his previous family.

Boreas is a handsome, chill guy who loves meeting new people! He enjoys long walks, playing with other dogs, and hanging out with his family. You`ll know he loves you when he leans into you and asks for butt-scratches. Boreas is the total package! Smart, friendly, outgoing, and playful. There`s never a dull moment with this big loveable dude.

Boreas previously lived with another dog and a cat! He would prefer a playful dog who can handle 84 lbs of excited play. He has successfully coexisted with cats in his previous home but we would still recommend slow introductions! Boreas would prefer a child-free home.

Boreas is neutered, up to date on core vaccinations, has received flea & tick topical, is dewormed, and has a microchip!

1.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

If you are interested in adopting and meeting one of our adoptable animals one-on-one, we will have you fill out our adoption questionnaire.

2.
Meet the Pet

After completing the adoption questionnaire, you will be paired with one of our Adoption Counselors to help you find the right match.

3.
Sign Adoption Contract

If a match is made, we will finalize the adoption paperwork and have you sign an adoption contract.

4.
Take the Pet Home

Once the contract is signed you may take your new pet home, typically same day!

The Fox Valley Humane Association believes in caring for pets and their people. We have an open adoption process, and our goal is to get to know potential adopters on a personal level and best match them with a new companion. We encourage you to stop by during our open hours to meet our adoptable animals.

The Fox Valley Humane Association is open to the public during the following hours. You do not need an appointment to view our adoptable animals, we welcome visitors anytime during our viewing hours. In order to best serve you, please plan on arriving at least 30 minutes prior to closing to meet with an Adoption Counselor and ensure adequate time to visit with our adoptable animals.
