My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee: $200, plus taxes
Location: Foster Home

Meet Nelly, a sweet and gentle adult cat with a bit of a shy streak. She may take her time warming up to new faces, but once she feels comfortable, she turns into a purring machine, especially when you give her the pets she loves so much. Nelly enjoys cozy corners and quiet moments, but there's nothing she loves more than a soft scratch behind the ears or a gentle stroke along her back. While she might prefer a calm, serene environment, her affectionate nature shines through when she feels safe. Nelly is looking for a loving home where patience and kindness are always in abundance, so she can show her true cuddly side. If you're someone who loves a cat that'll slowly warm up to you and shower you with love in her own way, Nelly might just be the perfect companion.

Nelly is about 4 years old and is spayed. She is up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped.

To meet Nelly please fill out an application on the Carver Scott Humane Socety website!

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
