My story

Birdey is a joyful, outgoing dog who's always ready to spread happiness. Her favorite things include soaking up attention, exploring the great outdoors, and curling up in the comfort of home-she's a house dog at heart.

She's very social and gets along wonderfully with people, but she can be a bit pushy with other dogs, especially around food. Birdey would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention or with a family willing to guide her through sharing and boundaries.

This adventurous girl has a knack for critter-chasing (she's proven her skills with chickens and possums), so a secure yard and a leash are musts to keep her safe. If she gets loose, she might wander but tends to stay nearby.

She's an affectionate, happy dog looking for a family who will enjoy her bright, lively spirit. Could she be the perfect match for you?

Our adoption process involves completing a one-page adoption application. Applications are processed within 48 hours.

Adoption fees for cats/kittens are $130.00. All cats/kittens have been wormed, altered, tested for feline leukemia, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.

Adoption fees for dogs/puppies are $300.00 All dogs/puppies have been wormed, altered, tested for heart worm, given age-appropriate vaccinations, and are microchipped.

We also offer our Senior for Senior program matching senior animals to people over the age of 63. Adoption fees are waived for this program.

Camp Companion is a 501c3 organization established in 2003.

Based in Rochester MN, the organization is totally driven by volunteers.

Camp Companion is dedicated to providing low-cost spay and neuter services for feral, farm and stray companion animals. The organization is funded solely by donations, fundraisers, grants, and adoption fees. All funds we receive are used for veterinary expenses and the cost of care incurred for the animals waiting for their forever homes.

Through our spay / neuter efforts, we encounter kittens and stray domestic cats that need rescue services and a forever home. We have no shelter, but rely on foster homes to care for these rescued pets. Every animal we offer for adoption is spayed or neutered.
