My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Shimmer: Your Well-Mannered Beauty
Introducing Shimmer, a striking black and white charmer who's already mastered many of life's important lessons! At 3 and a half years old, this medium-sized sweetheart combines mature wisdom with a desire to please.
Shimmer's house manners are impressive - she's mastered the art of crate training and responds reliably to her "crate" command. Her daytime house training is solid, though she still appreciates the security of her crate at night to maintain her perfect record.
This lovely lady has developed good habits that make her transition into a new home smoother. Her understanding of basic commands and routines shows she's both intelligent and eager to learn. These qualities make her an ideal companion for families who appreciate a dog with good manners and the willingness to keep learning.
Already in her prime adult years, Shimmer has the perfect balance of established habits and adaptability. Her success with training suggests she'd continue to excel with any additional guidance her new family might offer.
Are you ready to welcome this well-mannered girl into your life? Come meet Shimmer and discover the joy of having a companion who already knows the basics and is ready to learn even more!

More about this rescue

PAWS Columbus, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to prevent overpopulation and suffering of companion animals, to teach kindness and responsibility toward them, and to promote the remarkable capacity of pets to enrich human lives through pet-assisted therapy programs. We work in partnership with the City of Columbus to enhance and supplement the services offered by Animal Care and Control, reduce the need for euthanasia of unwanted animals because of severe pet overpopulation and find a loving and compatible forever home for every adoptable animal. PAWS is supported by private contributions from the citizens of our community. We are People Helping Animals, Animals Helping People.
