My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NICKY is a handsome and playful male tabby teenager kitten who loves nothing more than to play and to cuddle. He has a short brown tabby coat with an interesting dark-brown ring around his collar, a white chin, and a striped tail like a raccoon. Nicky and his siblings were trapped as strays, and he went to live in a loving foster home. He’s now learned about the joys of toys and the freedom of being a house cat. His favorite toys are the raccoon-tail wand, springs (which he will bring to you when he wants to play), and an interactive ball. You can often find Nicky running around, leaping on things, and making use of his scratching post. When he’s worn out from play, he’ll curl up on your lap or right next to you, belly-up and wanting cuddles. He’s a cat who will bond with the whole family and will always want to be where you are. As an active teenager kitten, Nicky would do best in a home with another kitten or playful young cat or dog--but he might be OK as an only cat with a stay-at-home adopter and lots of attention.

NICKY has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. You can meet NICKY at the cattery inside our partner PetSmart in North Eugene (2847 Chad Dr, across from Costco).  Please submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at the store, and an adoption counselor will contact you to set up a meet and greet. The $155 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for cats and kittens of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette; PetCo by Valley River Center and Wags Dog Emporium on Coburg Rd. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help Cat Rescue & Adoption Network save as many animal lives as possible.
