Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Lili & Valentino November 11 will go down in our memories as a bad day; however, it has proven to be a great start to our future. Our owner surrendered us because we were unwanted--the worst thing a pet wants to hear. Lili is a 3-year-old white and brown girl, and Valentino is a 5-year-old white and grey fellow. Our owner got us from another shelter four years ago. We are bonded friends and must stay together. We decided to pull a little prank on the interviewer lady (IL)! When we were in the HSHC 4-room apartments, Lili was the outgoing one, giving her nose kisses and seeking attention from her with a loud meow. Valentino chose to stay in his Kasa and ignore the IL. Then we moved to a Roaming Room and Valentino was the one who went right up to the IL for pets and stayed by her side, hoping for more pets. Lili remained in her Kasa and would not come out. Ha! Ha! We really got her because when we transferred to the Smitten Kitten Cat Cafe, we both were happy to see her and gave her plenty of chances to pet us! Lili especially liked sitting on top of this one cat tree, and she posed in many positions to get the scratches she wanted. Don`t you think we have a real sense of humor?! We are healthy, litterbox trained and altered, AND we are ready to come home with you for Christmas! 12-16-24

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.
This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
