My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I'm Diesel. I may be a bit shy at first, but give me a moment and you'll see my sweet, mellow nature shine through. I'm a bit of a cuddle bug, you see. I love snuggling up close, feeling the warmth of a friendly presence. I'm not one for loud noises or quick movements, I prefer the quiet, the calm. I'm a good listener too, always here to lend an ear when you need to talk. I'm just a simple guy, looking for a simple life filled with love and companionship. I promise to be your loyal friend, your confidante, your shoulder to lean on. Adopt me, and let's make beautiful memories together.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
