Meet Idol – Our Agility Star ⭐
Idol thought he’d found his forever, but due to housing challenges (a story we hear far too often), he’s back with us at CACC. Housing instability is a real and heartbreaking issue, and it’s important to remember that amazing dogs like Idol are not at fault. 💔
Please no shaming, let’s focus on Idol’s bright future! This incredible boy is an absolute star at agility – he’s focused and full of energy! As much as we love seeing his talents on display, we truly didn’t want to see him back here. Idol deserves a home where he can thrive.

I have been at the shelter since Nov 15, 2024.

Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL

The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID.

All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs.

Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
