My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 1 year
Weight: 4.1 kg

A mix of both sweet and sassy, the aptly named Thornberry is looking for a special someone to call her very own! Having been found as a stray living among multiple other cats, she is a bit on the under-socialized side. This means that when people go too fast with her or overstep her boundaries, she will hiss or growl to tell them to respect her needs. However, Thornberry is very affectionate and will happily rub all over you and ask for pets with head bonks. It`s just on her terms. With this in mind, the best family for Thornberry would be with experienced cat owners that are able to read her body language and know when she needs some space. Come meet Thornberry today and see what makes her such a special lady!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
