Charlotte is a 4-year-old female dog with a gentle, shy soul looking for someone special to help her come out of her shell. This sweet girl is a little nervous at first, so she needs a patient, kind person who's willing to take things slow and let her build trust at her own pace.
Charlotte has a calm, low-energy personality and is a considerate walker once she warms up. She pulls just a little on the leash when heading outside-likely eager to go potty-but has no reaction to the barking dogs she passes by. She's very polite and gentle, taking treats softly and always keeping her kennel clean, making her a great candidate for any home looking for a low-energy companion.
She would do best in a home with no other dogs.
One volunteer described Charlotte as "super sweet, super shy," and she may take a bit to feel comfortable, especially with things like doors, which seem to make her a little nervous. But once she feels secure, she's an easy walker who enjoys a long, peaceful stroll. After a walk, this lovely girl might even reward you with a big "hug," showing her gratitude for the comfort you bring.
Although she is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $400 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment.
If you're interested in learning more about her, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Charlotte 253878".
