My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 5 years
Weight: 19.6kg / 43.2lbs

A bit about Maya:
- Unknown history with kids; all interactions should be carefully supervised by an adult
- Unknown history with cats and other small animals; all introductions should be done slowly over a period of time and interactions supervised
- Limited history with other dogs; potential for another dog in home pending successful introduction

Meet Maya, the excited and sweet dog with a soul that will brighten up any day. Though not much is known about her history, while here she has shown she enjoys the company of others, and will snuggle in for some cuddles with people she trusts. Will you be the one to give Maya the second chance at life she deserves? Come meet this sweetheart at the Calgary Humane Society today!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
