My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Umi is a friendly and lovely girl. She is very affectionate and would love to curl up beside you all night.

Umi is very playful, but does not seem to like other cats, so she would do best in a home where her human family is around to give her lots of attention and playtime. She is also very smart, and understands "no". She loves treats, and might be able to learn lots of other commands.

Umi was a wonderful mama to seven beautiful kittens who have all found their forever homes. Now she is looking forward to the rest of her life as the centre of attention! Umi will bring joy and happiness to your home and she will fill your heart with love. She can't wait to meet you!

1.
Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
