Great ears!!
Hi there! My name is Truett, and I’m a 52-pound pup with a one-of-a-kind brown and black patchwork coat and big pointy ears that love to show how I’m feeling. I think I might have some shepherd or cattle dog in me, but really, I’m just 100% good boy. I’m a young guy- still a bit awkward and growing into my legs- the people here think I’m about a year or two old.
When I first came to the shelter with my brother , life was pretty tough. I was found as a stray, and I had a painful neck infection that looked like it might have been from an embedded collar. The people here took such good care of me, and now I’m all healed up and ready to start fresh with a loving family.
I love being around people—it’s my favorite thing in the whole world! I try so hard to make my humans happy because their praise means everything to me. I didn’t know what a leash was until recently, but after just one long walk where the humans here showed me the ropes, I learned to walk right by their side like a pro.
I can be a little unsure of myself sometimes, but I’m gentle with everyone I meet and always eager to learn. I was very reliant on my brother and now I’m learning how to play with the other dogs without him by my side.
My brother already found his forever home, and I’m so happy for him. Now, I’m hoping it’s my turn to find a family who will love me, praise me, and help me become the best version of myself.
Could that be you? If you think we might be a match, I can’t wait to meet you! Let’s go for a walk and see where it leads.
