My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet little Emilio hasn’t had the easiest start in life, but he’s ready to turn the page and find the loving home he deserves. At just 4 years old, this resilient pup has already faced more challenges than most.

Born with an underdeveloped eye that left him without sight in it, Emilio’s struggles began early. While living as a stray, he suffered a severe injury to his good eye, leaving him fully blind. When he was found and brought to a local shelter, they reached out to us for urgent help. Emilio’s eye injury was one of the worst we’ve seen — painful, protruding, and badly mutilated. We acted quickly to remove the damaged eye, and Emilio has been on the road to recovery ever since.

Adjusting to life without sight has been a big change for Emilio. He’s understandably cautious and nervous as he explores his surroundings, but we can see the spark of a brave and confident soul waiting to shine. A quiet, stable home with a patient and devoted owner will help him feel secure and bring out the best in him.

Emilio loves being around other dogs and would likely thrive with a canine companion who can guide him and boost his confidence. He’s also a people-loving cuddlebug who adores being spoken to and snuggling up with his favorite humans. Because he’s still learning his way, he’ll need an owner who isn’t away for long hours and can provide the guidance he needs to map out his world.

Emilio has been through so much, yet he remains a sweet, happy dog ready to thrive in the right home. If you’re looking for a special companion to shower with love and patience, Emilio might just be the one. Please inquire about him today!

More about this rescue

Pug Nation Rescue of Los Angeles is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, care, and placement of abandoned, neglected, unwanted, displaced, and abused pugs. Our goal is to find every homeless pug a forever home; if we cannot do that, we pledge to provide a comfortable and loving place for sick or unwanted pugs to live out their lives. Our Board of five and numerous volunteers are passionate about Pug Rescue and live by our motto of “One Pug at a Time”. We feel that through our efforts we can change many of these forgotten Pug’s lives. In order to find our Pugs a home as soon as possible, we hold at least three adoption fairs a month and also organize a number of fundraising events, including the annual Pugtacular festival and Legendary Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood. These events and on-line fundraising have provided the money to help pay for vet treatments, medicine and loving care at our Pug Station. We rely on the generosity of our supporters through donations and participation in our fundraising activities. If you would like to make a donation, find out about the next event, become a volunteer, foster, or adopt your own rescue pug, you are in the right place! You can also follow us on Facebook and twitter, there is always something going on and new pugs needing your help.
