My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ZOEY

  • Malamute/shepherd mix
  • Spayed female
  • 1.5 years old (est. June 30, 2023)
  • 60 pounds; 28 inches tall at the shoulder
  • Heartworm negative, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped
  • House trained
  • Dog door trained
  • Dog friendly; dog heeler size or larger due to Zoey's height
  • Cats unknown
  • Smart, attentive, loving, wants to please
  • Knows sit; almost a master at fetch
  • When integrated with a family, Zoey is low maintenance
  • She's a go-with-the-flow kinda gal

Meet ZOEY, the ultimate companion for those who want the best of both worlds: a four-legger to share adventures with and a cuddle buddy for those lazy evenings on the couch. This smart girl loves a good roll in the grass and thrives on quality time with her favorite human and/or doggy friend. She's a quick learner and is eager to please. Her current repertoire includes sit and being close to fully mastering fetch. Bonus: Independent and easy-going as she is, ZOEY will entertain herself and play with her doggy friends. ZOEY still is just a happy, gangly puppy, so she'd like her doggy friends to be heeler size or larger so that they can join her in playtime. ZOEY lived with several old, small dogs and a friend closer to her own size. She is being rehomed because of recent changes in pack dynamics with the smaller dogs making them less tolerant of Zoey's youth and the subsequent fact that ZOEY's doggy friends need to be closer to her size. ZOEY is a fabulous dog who’s not shown aggression with any dog that she's met and has acted submissively when introduced to an also submissive but exuberantly friendly dog on his turf.

ZOEY currently is in a foster home but would be happier in a home that better meets her physical and emotional needs (her current foster's youngest dog is 9 years old). A fur-ever home of her own is what ZOEY truly wants to have!

Additional adoption info

We endeavor to find the best home for each pet in our care. We do home visits on every pet, even if it can only be a virtual visit with pictures and videos from the potential adopter. Most of the time we adopt to people who live close enough for a personal home visit.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

We do not have a facility; so meet and greets with potential adopters, pets and current pets are done on an appointment bases; sometimes at the potential adopter's home, or in a neutral location.
