My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Those that appreciate the bulldog breed will truly appreciate this girl. Priyah is a big boned American Bulldog mix who quickly wiggles her way into everyone’s heart she meets. She is a GORGEOUS white body with blue merle spots on her face. At 85lbs, her personality is almost as big as her head. She has a playful personality and is always making us laugh with her reactions to new toys and zest for life. She loves to try and walk herself with the leash and will throw a toy up in the air. Priyah loves Nylabones and Benebones. She is crate trained and enjoys snuggly blankets in her crate.

Priyah walks well on a leash, but does pull in new environments and to get to people that she wants to greet with full body wags and kisses. We joke sometimes that she wags her tail so hard her back feet lift off the ground.

Energy level wise, Priyah doesn’t ask for much. A walk around the neighborhood and playtime inside will suffice just fine. Her battery runs out quick and she’s keen on snuggling. She is a queen at naps and snores like a freight train.

Priyah has met children as young as 6 and is a doll. She gives great kisses. She has no stranger danger that we’ve seen and is a friend to all. She has met a cat without barriers and shows some familiarity, as if she’s lived with them before. The cat’s meowing didn’t phase her and she would back away if the cat walked to her. She gave polite sniffs and went about her day! As far as dog compatibility goes, Priyah is quite dominant and wants to be in charge. Our ideal home for her is one where she is the only dog. She’d be fine to socialize with other dogs while out on a walk. She’s currently living with other dogs with close management (she stays leashed around them). She is not dog aggressive, but is best being the only dog in a home environment.

Priyah is located in a foster home. We are happy to coordinate a meet & greet for pre-approved adopters. To get started, please submit an adoption application at https://bit.ly/USAHOTNADOPT2024

Adoption process:
Potential adopters complete our online application. From there, we contact them to continue the screening process including checking references, vet checks, and a personal phone interview. Upon completion, potential adopters are pre-approved.

From there, potential adopters are put in touch with the foster parent(s) of the dog they are interested in adopting. If a specific dog is not in mind, admins will make suggestions based on who we feel will be good candidates for their home. We take the foster's opinions into high consideration when determining ideal fit for an adoption.

Once the dog is determined to be a good fit for the adoptive home, the adopter is given advisement on decompression, training, safety gear, and future preventative vetting. The adoption contract is signed and adoption fee paid to finalize the adoption.
