My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Biscuit, the delightful older cat with the spirit and playfulness of a kitten! This charming lady might appear a bit shy in the shelter, but once she’s in a cozy home, her true colors come out, and she’s sure to capture your heart. Biscuit has a boundless love for affection and a knack for play that’s impossible to resist. She’ll stay close by your side, curling up on your lap to knead and “make biscuits” with her gentle paws—a true cuddle artist.

Biscuit isn’t just looking for a quiet corner; she’s eager to be the star of your world! She craves connection and isn’t afraid to show it, following you around like a loyal shadow and giving you all her affection. She’s lively, endearing, and always ready to play or pounce on a toy, making every day brighter with her kitten-like energy.

If you’re searching for a best friend who brings both warmth and fun to your life, Biscuit is the perfect match. She’s not just a companion; she’s a loyal cuddle buddy who wants to be at the center of your home and heart. Ready to make your days sweeter? Biscuit is waiting to be your forever friend!

How to Adopt:

Take your time getting to know the animal you wish to adopt. The pet you choose should be your pet for the rest of its life, so spend the time necessary to make the right choice. Our staff is happy to assist you in taking a dog out of the kennels or socializing with a cat in the cat room. We encourage each person in your household to get acquainted with an animal before it becomes a new member of your family. We also suggest you bring your present pets in for an introduction to the new animal to form some ideas about their compatibility. Our shelter is open Tuesday through Friday, 12-5 pm and Saturdays from 10 am-5 pm. In order to complete the adoption process, it is necessary to begin adoptions by 4:30pm.

More about this shelter

Our mission is to provide animals with loving care and lasting homes, to partner with communities striving to do the same, and to advance our no-kill legacy.

We accomplish our mission by transferring cats and dogs to our facilities from public shelters in the Bay Area and beyond when they are in danger of being euthanized due to space or financial limitations.

Pets In Need has shelters in Redwood City and Palo Alto. We have owned and operated our Redwood City shelter since 1993, and in 2019 we began operating the Palo Alto Animal Shelter in partnership with the City of Palo Alto.

Pets In Need is now operating the Palo Alto Animal Shelter. The City of Palo Alto still provides Animal Control Services for the cities of Palo Alto, Los Altos, & Los Altos Hills, CA
