My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: Taber, Alberta. Energy level: High energy. Cats and small animals: Yes, if properly introduced and managed. Dogs: Yes. Kids: older dog savvy children.

Meet Journey, a sweet and silly pup who is looking for her forever home. Journey's best qualities include her playful nature, love for toys, and her ability to bring joy and laughter to everyone around her. She enjoys playing fetch or tug, playing in the water, going for walks, and people-watching.

Journey is a high-energy dog who enjoys going for 1-2 60-minute walks a day. Although Journey is still learning how to walk politely on leash, she's made quick progress and enjoys her walks. Because she is still working on her anxiety, barking dogs and new people can make her nervous. She would benefit from someone who is experienced in building confidence and training dogs with anxiety and fear.

Journey is fully crate-trained, settles without barking when home alone, and sleeps through the night. She does whine a bit when she knows people are home but still settles in quickly. Journey is house-trained with minimal accidents, but is still learning how to communicate that she needs to go out. On car rides, Journey can still be quite nervous and tries to ride in her person's lap so she would benefit from a car crate or another person for comfort.

Journey would thrive in an active household with dog-savvy children. She can be nervous around new people, regardless of size or gender. She gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy having a companion to play with. Although she doesn't display an active prey drive, she does have a chase drive, so she should be placed in a home without cats or small animals. Due to Journey being nervous and timid at first, she requires multiple meet 'n' greets before the adoption can be finalized.

If you are looking for an energetic, goofy, loyal companion who will give you endless affection and laughs then Journey just might be your girl! Click "apply to adopt" to complete an application and one of our team leads will be in touch via email to arrange a phone within a few business days.

Go meet their pets

We do not host adoption events. We do bring some of our dogs to fundraisers to meet potential adopters who then must complete the full adoption process.

More about this rescue

We are a small foster based rescue who focuses on helping areas of overpopulation and dogs in desperate situations. We are run by dedicated volunteers and generally only have a handful of dogs in care at one time so we can focus on exactly what they need to feel better and find a loving home.
