My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 5 years
Weight: 34.80 kg

A little bit about Blonco:
- no young children, older kids only
- potential for dog-savvy cat in home
- must be only dog in home

We`ve all seen some pretty goofy looking dogs, but Blonco might just take the cake (but please no real cake, he has allergies)! This big, silly, cuddly boy is looking for his forever family; preferably one with previous dog experience. Blonco might be nervous at first, especially with men, but he warms up quickly and solicits attention in no time! A home without small children will be important for Blonco as he will need people who can read his body language. Food is definitely the key to his heart, but you have to be careful due to his previously mentioned allergies. He is on a strict hypoallergenic diet and will likely need this for the rest of his life! Unfortunately, Blonco hasn`t had the best interactions with other dogs and must be the only dog in his forever home. With that being said, Blonco has successfully lived with a cat before and could befriend another active, dog-savvy feline! We know that our big boy Blonco will require a bit more help than most, but he is worth every dollar, cuddle and laugh there is! Don`t miss out on this loveable lad while he`s still here!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
