Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi there! My name is Billie Jean, and I am a playful, quiet and energetic cat looking for a forever home to join. I like to stay active and have lots of space to run around and chase toys. However, I equally enjoy my rest and relaxation time, happily sleeping on my humans' laps or chest, or just snoozing in a comfortable space. I always find enjoyment in pets and being picked up.
For a playful, curious cat like me, so many things make great toys to bat around- a stuffed mouse, fabric ball, or wadded up piece of paper. I also like to play games with my humans, hiding under the bed and then popping out at just the right moment when they walk by it. There is a lot happening in the world, so I like to sit in a window, as well, watching outside, and those online bird videos really capture my attention. Unlike most cats, I'm curious about water, and after my foster parent showers, I like to walk around in the tub to get my little paws wet. As I'm still learning about the world, sometimes certain noises can startle me, so I may need some comforting from time to time. I am just such a perfect balance of energy and relaxation and would be a wonderful addition to many homes!

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

More about this rescue
Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.
Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
