In early October, I rescued a cat now named Chow here in Chicago. Since then, I've had her vaccinated for rabies, FELV, and FVRC. My initial plan was to have her spayed and rehome her with a friend or family member, but unfortunately, that hasn’t worked out as I had hoped. I have been unable to get a low cost spay appointment despite several attempts over the last 2 months.
Her previous owner moved to an apartment that does not allow pets, and allowed her to be outdoor every day. She has been exclusively indoor since I took her in.
We estimate Chow to be around one year old. While she is a sweet cat, she hasn’t been getting along with my cat. I’ve managed their interactions so far, but the situation has become increasingly challenging.
Surrendering Chow to a shelter would be heartbreaking for me, and I would much prefer for her to be in a foster environment where someone with more experience can help socialize her.
