My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Do you ever have those moments where you’re relaxing on the couch watching a movie, you're out in your backyard grilling or you're just doing house chores and think “man, it would be really nice to have a buddy to share this with.” Well look no further because Sheldon Cooper is just your guy!! Sheldon wants to kick back and enjoy the simple things in life with his favorite person right by his side. One of the cutest and sweetest things about Sheldon is the way he looks at you. He has the sweetest most soulful eyes you’ve probably ever seen. He peers into your soul making you feel like you’re the most important person in the world. There’s something about a dog’s ability to make someone feel that special that you just can’t describe in words. It’s a feeling that only the lucky few ever get to experience. He is your soul. There is no doubt about it. The bond with Sheldon goes so much deeper than you can even imagine.

He’ll capture your heart, just watch his video and you’ll see: https://youtu.be/SNN0-MI7f7s?si=tLz_pAYVwLw2Wy1T

Sheldon really does teach you how to slow down in life and to really appreciate everything around you. He loves laying out in the backyard, belly up and just soaking it all in like there’s no care in the world. He’s just a sweet and cuddly homebody that thrives in a slower paced environment with people that have the exact same mindset as he does. He loves a good snuggle and can be very affectionate towards the person he bonds with. Strangers and young kids can be scary for Sheldon, so he needs slow introductions to be able to feel secure and comfortable with new people and prefers a home with no kids but once you’re in his corner, it’s game over! You’ll forever be his favorite person and you’ll gain the sweetest little shadow. The perfect homebody companion. He’s also more than just your regal gentleman, he has a goofy side too. One of the things that he does that we love so much is the way he trots with such sass when his favorite person calls him over. His little ears just start flopping around and he gets the biggest smile on his face. And man does he love to play with toys. Especially stuffy toys! He loves tossing them up in the air and catching them like he’s air bud from the movies. He also does the cutest little hops when he’s playing too. Sheldon knows how to entertain himself quietly with a chew toy chew or a stuffy. He can be relaxing on the couch with you by his side while you’re watching tv or even working from home and there will be Sheldon quietly chewing his toy entertaining himself.

Sheldon is a black mouth cur mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 46 lbs and is full grown. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Sheldon is extremely dog friendly and is so great with other dogs that he’s even occasionally used as an assessment dog here at the rescue. This means that Sheldon welcomes our new intake dogs, and teaches them that the rescue is a fun and safe place to be, while showing us bits of their personality that are only apparent in dog-to-dog interactions. He would do great in a home with even multiple dogs in the home. He loves to play, has a gentle play style and knows when to take breaks as well. He is great at communicating with other dogs as well if the play becomes a little too much. He gives very appropriate corrections letting them know he needs a little break. Sheldon is in play groups everyday at the rescue with up to 10-15 dogs at a time all with different personalities and has the time of his life. Another great option for him would be doggy day care if you don’t have other dogs. He would love to be your only companion because to him that just means more affection and can be the center of attention, which he will absolutely love. So if you don’t have other dogs, want him to be able to socialize and to have some fun and if you work long hours, take him to doggy day care during the day. He does great in those settings and it helps him stay socialized with dogs and with people. We actually would prefer to see him attend doggy day care if you are a single person with no other dogs. As mentioned previously, new people can be a little scary for him, so when he is in a structured and routined environment it really helps his confidence. Even though he is very dog friendly and does great in big groups, including doggy day care, we don’t want to see him going to dog parks. There are too many unknown variables as well as too many strangers that would want to approach him and he doesn’t enjoy being approached by strangers.

Sheldon would be best in a home with a backyard or even on some property where he can join you out on a nice day gardening, explore the land with you, and sunbathe out in the grass on a nice summer day. He also loves the water, so if you have a pool or a pond on your property, he would love that too. We see Sheldon being in a home with a homebody single person that either works from home or someone that will take him to doggy day care during the day if you work long hours. He's a goofy homebody introvert that just loves to be around his one person that doesn’t care to have a lot of visitors and is perfectly happy just being by themselves with their dog. He’s the perfect companion that will snuggle with you, be your little shadow and simply just enjoy the simple things in life with you. We are willing to test Sheldon Cooper with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.

Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
