Animal Profile: Dewey is a 7 week old chihuahua who joined us on 09/20/2024. His mama Mimi was intercepted as a surrender to the packed San Bernardino shelter and was too far along to be spayed. We wanted her to have a safe place to have her babies and got her on a transport to us right away, she had other plans and had her babies on her way to us. Dewey and his siblings are thriving in foster care and will be ready for their forever homes once they are a bit older old.
Foster Update: Dewey is half the size of his siblings, but his has a BIG personality! He was the first to walk and bark, roams and explores the farthest, and goes nose with the big dogs. He's got signature chihuahua moves (and perhaps a bit of Napolean syndrome). Dewey is looking for a home with experience with shy dogs, as Dewey is timid with people and will need a forever home who helps build his confidence. A home with no or only older, (and very careful) children would be safest for him. A confident resident dog in the home may also be helpful.
Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test and microchip with lifetime registration. Adoption fees benefit all the animals in our rescue, and may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
